Maybe 3 stars is not enough for the book and the story, but I was so confused about what happened when and where throughout the entire book, that I can't bring myself to give it 4 (3,5 would be more accurate, I think)。 I liked the story, especially Ciri's part (I wasn't very interested in some of the other chapters, which made it hard to get through from time to time)。 Maybe 3 stars is not enough for the book and the story, but I was so confused about what happened when and where throughout the entire book, that I can't bring myself to give it 4 (3,5 would be more accurate, I think)。 I liked the story, especially Ciri's part (I wasn't very interested in some of the other chapters, which made it hard to get through from time to time)。 。。。more

What a spectacular ending to this amazing saga。 When the Witcher universe started to cross into our universe I was really confused, but then it hit me。 What a terrific way to give it 'credibility'。 I also liked the constant time & dimensions shifting, but I can understand those who found it tiring。The ending is somewhat open-ended which gave CDPR the opportunity to pick it up and continue with the games。 Even if Sapkowski doesn't recognize the games as canon, I still consider them the deserving What a spectacular ending to this amazing saga。 When the Witcher universe started to cross into our universe I was really confused, but then it hit me。 What a terrific way to give it 'credibility'。 I also liked the constant time & dimensions shifting, but I can understand those who found it tiring。The ending is somewhat open-ended which gave CDPR the opportunity to pick it up and continue with the games。 Even if Sapkowski doesn't recognize the games as canon, I still consider them the deserving continuation of the story。Cannot wait for the TV series to pick it up。 。。。more

(Audiobook by Peter Kenny) And so the saga comes to an end。 RIP to all the cool characters that fought for Ciri。 The ending sets up the video games pretty well and is great in itself。

When ciri cried when telling the story to Galahad, was she crying out of joy or out of sadness and she was lying about the wedding?? Regardless , amazing series of books。

This last book, for being as long as it is, could not complete a train of thought。 Plotlines were repetitive, it went nowhere, and what was opened up as plot didn't finish。 And that ending? Seriously? The games didn't come out for nearly 10+ years after, so you can't say he expected any sort of continuation。 This last book, for being as long as it is, could not complete a train of thought。 Plotlines were repetitive, it went nowhere, and what was opened up as plot didn't finish。 And that ending? The first three books of this series were interesting and entertaining。 After that, the series seems to drag on with repetitive events and a real lack of plot twists。

A book of conclusions。Had some great moments but also had filler buildups。。

It's a bit longer than I think it needed and I felt the big bad battle didn't really represent the saving of the world that I thought Ciri was 'destined' to do, but there were some nice twists and tie ins (From hedgehog Duny to King Arthur!) and I felt satisfied at the end。 Now that I've finished, I think I can say that the first two books with the short stories and then the book Baptism of Fire are my favorites in the series。 It's a bit longer than I think it needed and I felt the big bad battle didn't really represent the saving of the world that I thought Ciri was 'destined' to do, but there were some nice twists and tie ins (From hedgehog Duny to King Arthur!) and I felt satisfied at the end。 Now that I've finished, I think I can say that the first two books with the short stories and then the book Baptism of Fire are my favorites in the series。 。。。more

Too many unnecessary layers and actors in the plot

Wow。 What a wrap up to the series。 Sapkowski brought it all together and explained everything。 Much better series than Game of Thrones in that there are less characters to track and more interesting side stories。 Sorry to have reached the ending。

A little underwhelming end of an exciting series。 A whole chunk of the book was devoted to a war I did not grow to care about with characters I had no attachment to。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Hmm, I really wanted to enjoy the last book in this series but it just wasn’t for me。 The pacing was not great, the last 20% or so was tough to even get through。 I was not really a fan either of the fast forwards in time。 I understand the parts with Ciri because it’s all a part of her abilities, but the random interjections of folks hundreds of years in the future was not great。 I felt like it somewhat ruined and spoiled the story as you read through it。 Unfortunately, my least favorite book in Hmm, I really wanted to enjoy the last book in this series but it just wasn’t for me。 The pacing was not great, the last 20% or so was tough to even get through。 I was not really a fan either of the fast forwards in time。 I understand the parts with Ciri because it’s all a part of her abilities, but the random interjections of folks hundreds of years in the future was not great。 I felt like it somewhat ruined and spoiled the story as you read through it。 Unfortunately, my least favorite book in the series and it was supposed to be the finale。 。。。more

A beautiful, melancholic end to a story of struggle。The conclusion to the story of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri paints a melancholic and bitterly triumphant “end” to a story of family won through sacrifice。 Often touching, and intermittently both cathartic and painfully withholding, it nevertheless satisfies longtime readers without pandering。 I loved this book。

I dont know if i want to give it 1 star or 5 stars。 I hate it here

Love all of the Witcher books! This one has plenty of highs and lows - love, friendship, death, and acceptance。 There are many battle and war scenes, as well as political plotting and strategizing。 As Geralt fights for good and justice, everything around him begins to falter and fail。 His journey to get back to Yennifer and Ciri includes much heartache, yet is ultimately what each has to endure to be together。 In the end, the prophecy remains true。

Josephine

A wonderful series of books, the story held me up to the end of it。

Lucia Wolfie

3。5 rounding upThe way women are portrayed in this book made me uncomfortable。It was very engaging though, I was going to rate this 4 stars, but then the ending came and it seemed very rushed to me, not a satisfying conclusion to the series。But that is just my opinion。

Peter Jolley

The end to an incredible series。 This book gripped me to the end!! Sensational read。

Need More Witcher。I just finished the last of the Witcher series and it is so amazing。 I can’t wait to watch that Netflix series again this time with a better understanding of the universe created by the author。

Harsh Kumar

The middle part of this book is probably the weakest in the series。 Although it still manages to give the extraordinary Witcher saga a rather satisfying ending。

Evan

Good story but the way in which it has been told has never really worked that well for me。 This one was a story within a story within a story, just seemed to be over complicating it。

Definitely get the sense by this point that there is a great comedy writer trying to get loose。 Constantly switching framing devices again but it's an easy read。 Definitely get the sense by this point that there is a great comedy writer trying to get loose。 Constantly switching framing devices again but it's an easy read。 。。。more
